The white pine happens to be the tree which the weapons of war were buried under. It’s branches were spread out to provide the people with shelter, protection, and comfort. It’s roots extend to the four directions welcoming others who wish to follow the Great Law of Peace and within the Great Law a clan system was put into place to help unsure peace among the Haudenosaunee people at a time where there was no peace. The Peacemaker went to each of the Five Nations to untie and bring peace to the territories. Today, the Five Nations are known as the Haudenosaunee Iroqious Confederacy.”
